Read on for a full match report of Craigneuk Amateurs' latest game.
After last week’s defeat in came Paul Rooney, Darren Phillips, Davy McKnight, Craig McGowan and new signing Robert Lafferty into the starting line up.
Facing into a strong sun Craigneuk took the game to their Muirend opponents Tam McKnight had a shot saved in the first 5 mins. Neuk kept pressing for the first goal and what a beauty it was when John Collins fired a free kick from all of 30 yards right into the top corner (that fast the keeper even missed it on the way out). This seemed to lift Neuk and they kept pressing, Murray was marshalling his defence well and with Stephen Rooney and Davy McKnight controlling the midfield. Then some good work by Shaun Thomson on the left let in McGowan only to see the keeper put his effort onto the bar and away to safety. Craigneuk had a corner on the right side Thomson crossed over for the oncoming D McKnight to bullet a header into the net.

On came John Hill for the injured Collins and started the ball rolling again when he played in McGowan to fire into the net only for the ref to chop it off for offside. The quiet first part of the second had OPM soaking up the pressure. Neuks defence we doing well with Phillips winning numerous balls in the air.
Then hard work from Thomson to win the ball back and with a network of passes between the two McKnight’s played in McGowan and he chipped the on rushing keeper. Thomson and Hill took a short corner then passed to Stephen Rooney who crossed for D McKnight to head passed the goalie only to see it come back off the post right into the path of Duddy who blasted it into the net. Duddy then set up Tam McKnight with a long ball down the wing with him collecting it beating two defenders and firing into the net with the keeper well beaten.
With only five minutes remaining OPM got a consolation goal when the beat the offside trap and fired past Lafferty in the Neuk goal.
